Privacy policy What we collect

The short version

• The free scan reads your site's public pages, the same pages any visitor or search engine can already see.
• We ask for an email only when you choose to create a free account or receive your full report.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• The plugin on your own site makes two calls back to us, both about your license, and sends no visitor data.
• We use no advertising trackers today. If that changes, this page changes first.

The free scan

When you run a scan, you give us a domain, and optionally an email address. Our scan service fetches that domain's public pages and analyzes them, then returns a grade and findings. The domain and the resulting report are cached for a short time so a repeat scan is fast, and then expire. If you provide an email, we store it to send your report and, if you ask for one, to create your account.

We do not scan pages that are not publicly reachable, and we do not store copies of your site's content beyond the short-lived cache the report needs.

Your account

A free account stores your email address and a password. WordPress stores the password as a secure hash, never in readable form. Creating an account signs you in automatically. Your account records which sites you have added and how many scans you have used, so we can apply the free-tier limits.

Payments

When you buy a license, checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your billing details and card information under its own privacy terms. We receive a confirmation that payment succeeded, your email, and a subscription identifier so we can issue and renew your license. We never receive or store your full card number.

Email

We use an email provider to send transactional messages: your license key, account notices, and, if you opted in, your scan report. We store your email address and your plan status with that provider so the right messages reach you. We do not send marketing email you did not ask for, and every optional message can be unsubscribed.

What the plugin sends

The WP Visibility plugin installed on your own site is deliberately quiet. With its default settings it makes two outbound requests, both to wpvisibility.com and both about your license:

• An update check, which sends your plugin, PHP, and WordPress version numbers, with your license key as a request header, so we can serve the right update.
• License activation, which sends your license key and your site URL once, when an administrator clicks Activate.

The plugin sends no visitor data, runs no telemetry, and adds no third-party requests to your visitors' page views with the default modules. The full, machine-readable list of every request and stored field is published by the plugin itself, at its Privacy Manifest endpoint.

Optional modules you turn on can make their own requests, and each says so where you enable it. For example, IndexNow, when enabled, pings search engines you choose.

Cookies and analytics

wpvisibility.com uses the cookies WordPress needs to keep you signed in and to secure forms. We do not currently run advertising or analytics trackers.

Who processes your data

We share data only with the providers that make the service work, each acting on our instructions:

• Stripe, for payments.
• Our email provider, for transactional and opted-in email.
• Our cloud scan service, which fetches and analyzes the public site you asked us to scan.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email support@wpvisibility.com and a human will handle it. Deleting your account removes your email and account records from our systems; billing records that we are required to keep for tax and accounting are retained for as long as the law requires.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
